Does using Neko Translator cost money?
Section titled “Does using Neko Translator cost money?”The app’s existing free features will remain free indefinitely, and we will keep improving them and adding more free features that make the app more convenient to use.
Optional paid value-added services or enterprise features may be introduced later, but you will never be required to use them.
Third-party providers connected by the user are paid for by the user directly and are unrelated to Neko Translator. They may charge by request count, token usage, or subscription plan. Check the third-party provider’s pricing terms.
Storage
Section titled “Storage”Where are comic images and translations stored?
Section titled “Where are comic images and translations stored?”Images, text blocks, source text, translations, and proofreading are stored in the app’s local data. The exact directory depends on the platform.
The app does not automatically synchronize local data to another device or to the cloud, but depending on your system settings, the data may be included in your device’s cloud backup by the system.
Where are API keys stored?
Section titled “Where are API keys stored?”API keys are stored in the platform’s secure storage and are protected by your device and operating system. Even so, do not screenshot keys, commit them to a repository, or post them in a public chat.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”What data is sent to providers?
Section titled “What data is sent to providers?”When online services are called, the data depends on the step: detection and Extract Image Summary usually send the whole image; Extract Text sends a cropped image region or the whole image; translation sends source text, context, and available glossary entries. Retention and training policies are controlled by the third-party provider; read the provider’s privacy policy.
Does Neko Translator upload comics to its own server?
Section titled “Does Neko Translator upload comics to its own server?”Neko Translator does not upload or store your comics.
If you call an online service provided by Neko Translator (not available yet), it behaves as described in the previous answer; see the privacy policy of that service for details.
Is a local model completely offline?
Section titled “Is a local model completely offline?”Fetching the local model download manifest and downloading models still require a network. You can also import an already downloaded model from local files.
When every automation step is configured to use a local service, the complete workflow does not send data to external model services.
How should I report a problem?
Section titled “How should I report a problem?”First make sure the app is updated to the latest version. If the problem persists, find our contact information on the official website and report it.
Please include:
- app version;
- platform;
- provider and model;
- full error text;
- reproduction steps.
Remove API keys, private comic images, and other sensitive information before sending a report.
